Wedding guest count vs budget calculator
Have a budget and a guest list that may not match? Enter your total budget, the costs that stay the same whatever the guest count, and what each guest costs you. You see how many guests fit and how far your planned guest list is over or under. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
Your numbers made-up example: replace with your own
Most guests that fit is rounded down to a whole guest. Cost per guest here is only the per-head part (meal, drinks, favors, rentals per guest), not the total divided by guests.
How it works
Left for guests = budget − fixed costs. Most guests that fit = left for guests ÷ cost per guest, rounded down. Total at your guest count = fixed costs + guests × cost per guest. Over or under = budget − that total.
Worked example (the made-up values above): $24,000.00 − $14,530.00 of fixed costs leaves $9,470.00 for guests. At $99.50 a head that is $9,470.00 ÷ $99.50 = 95.2, so 95 guests fit (95 × $99.50 = $9,452.50; a 96th guest would need $9,552.00). With the planned 100 guests the wedding costs $14,530.00 + $9,950.00 = $24,480.00, which is $480.00 over budget: cut 5 guests, lower the per-head cost by $4.80, or find $480.00 in the fixed costs.
